The Falcons evened up the score against the Bengals in the second quarter when newly-signed fullback Lousaka Polite caught a two-yard pass from Matt Ryan to cap a nine-yard, 88-play drive. Polite's score was the Falcons' first touchdown of the night and the Matt Bryant extra point tied the game at ten.

With the exception of tight end Tony Gonzalez, all Falcons starters remained in the game. The drive took 4:49 to complete.

Ryan capped that drive with his 18th completion of the night in 21 pass attempts. Along with the touchdown, Ryan has 174 yards passing.
