The Atlanta Falcons today waived fullback Thor Merrow, punter Ken Parrish, long snapper Andrew Schulze and tight end A.J. Simmons.

Merrow, 6-0, 252 pounds, was signed by the Falcons as a college free agent from the University of North Alabama on July 26, 2011.

Parrish, 6-2, 210 pounds, was signed by the Falcons as a free agent on March 3, 2011. He was originally signed by the San Francisco 49ers as a college free agent from East Stroudsburg University in 2007.

Schulze, 6-6, 255 pounds, was signed by the Falcons as a college free agent from the University of Iowa on July 26, 2011.

Simmons, 6-3, 255 pounds, was signed by the Falcons as a college free agent from the University of Arizona on August 3, 2011.

The Falcons must reduce their roster to 80 players by August 30 as part of the NFL's mandatory roster cut down. Atlanta will have to trim its roster to 53 players by September 3 and may establish an eight-player practice squad on September 5.
