Falcons sign free agent receiver Dicky Lyons

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. --The Atlanta Falcons today signed free agent wide receiver Dicky Lyons.

Lyons, 5-11, 190 pounds, graduated from the University of Kentucky and ranks fifth in school history in receptions (141), fourth in receiving yards (1,752) and third in touchdown receptions (18). In 2008, he led the team in receptions, yards and touchdowns although he only competed in six games. In his junior season, Lyons contributed with 655 yards and recorded his best statistical game after finishing with a career-high 124 yards and three touchdowns against Florida. In 2006, he became the first player in Kentucky history to catch two touchdown passes in three consecutive games.

Lyons also returned punts and kickoffs for the Wildcats, averaging 10.1 yards per punt return and 23.7 yards per kickoff return.
