Falcons Secure No. 17 Pick in the 2016 Draft

With the 2015 season in the books, the focus and attention now moves towards the 2016 NFL Draft.

Atlanta finished the season at 8-8 and will hold the No. 17 selection in the 2016 Draft. The Falcons finished second in the NFC South while remaining in the playoff hunt until the conclusion of Week 16. 

The Falcons, Colts, and Bills all finished with identical records. Based on strength of schedule, Atlanta will select ahead of Indianapolis and Buffalo in the spring Draft, which will be held in Chicago.

Below is the current order of picks 1-20:

  1. Tennessee Titans: 3-13 (.492 strength of schedule)
    1. Cleveland Browns: 3-13 (.531)
    2. San Diego Chargers: 4-12 (.527)
    3. Dallas Cowboys: 4-12 (.531)
    4. Jacksonville Jaguars: 5-11 (.473)
    5. Baltimore Ravens: 5-11 (.508)
    6. San Francisco 49ers: 5-11 (.539)
    7. Miami Dolphins: 6-10 (.469)
    8. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: 6-10 (.484)
    9. New York Giants: 6-10 (.500)
    10. Chicago Bears: 6-10 (.547)
    11. New Orleans Saints: 7-9 (.504)
    12. Philadelphia Eagles: 7-9 (.508)
    13. Oakland Raiders: 7-9 (.512)
    14. St. Louis Rams: 7-9 (.527)
    15. Detroit Lions: 7-9 (.535)
    16. Atlanta Falcons: 8-8 (.481)
    17. Indianapolis Colts: 8-8 (.500)
    18. Buffalo Bills: 8-8 (.508)
    19. New York Jets: 10-6 (.441)
