Falcons Promote Scouts Sabo, Heard

The Atlanta Falcons today announced that they have promoted Steve Sabo to Director of College Scouting and Shepley Heard to regional scout.

Sabo spent the last three years as an area scout, responsible for scouting the Midwest area for the team. As the Director of College Scouting, Sabo will oversee Atlanta's college area and regional scouts. He will also compile the information he receives and present it to General Manager Thomas Dimitroff in an effort to make the NFL Draft as effective and efficient as possible. Sabo will also be responsible for scouting the top talent in the country and will work closely with Director of Player Personnel Lionel Vital on college scouting matters.

Heard has been with the Falcons for the last eight seasons, including the last four as an area scout responsible for scouting in the Southwest part of the country. Prior to his move West, Heard served as a Scouting Assistant in the pro personnel department in 2005 before being promoted to a Pro Scout in the spring of 2006. As a regional scout, Heard will be responsible for scouting the top talent in a specific region of the country.
