Falcons Place Konz on Injured Reserve

The Atlanta Falcons today announced that they have placed center Peter Konz on injured reserve and signed tackle Jonathan Scott to the 53-man active roster.

Konz, 6-5, 317 pounds, was selected by the Falcons in the second round (55th overall) of the 2012 NFL Draft out of Wisconsin. He has played in 39 games with 27 starts seeing action at both center and right guard.

Scott, 6-6, 318 pounds, was originally selected by the Detroit Lions in the fifth round (141st overall) of the 2006 NFL Draft out of Texas. He has played in 70 games with 35 starts as a member of the Lions, Buffalo Bills, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Chicago Bears during his eight-year NFL career. Scott started 45 of 51 games for the Longhorns, including each of his final 43 games earning first-team All-America honors from the American Football Coaches Association, the Associated Press, the Football Writers Association of AmericaSporting News, and the Walter Camp Football Foundation.
