Falcons Pass Rush Earns Three Sacks In First Half

passrush.jpg

The pass rush needed to improve for the 2012 Falcons and the early indications are that it may be doing just that. Kroy Biermann and linebackers Akeem Dent and Robert James combined for Atlanta's three sacks in the first half against the Ravens. Biermann and Dent's sacks came against Baltimore's first-team defense, including starting QB Joe Flacco.

James added the third sack of the half against backup QB Tyrod Taylor.

Shortly after Dent's sack of Flacco he left the game when he was injured while covering a punt. James took his place at middle linebacker. Dent was said to have a head injury and will not be returning to Thursday night's game.

The sacks for Dent and James are the first of their career, in the preseason or regular season.
