Falcons Featured in USA Football's NFL Films Big Play Breakdown for Youth Players

Illustrating to youth players how strong football fundamentals lead to success on the field, the Atlanta Falcons are featured in USA Football's NFL Films Big Play Breakdown for the team's 59-yard, game-changing pass play on Sept. 30 against the Carolina Panthers.

Throughout the season, USA Football and NFL Films will produce Big Play Breakdown video segments to spotlight the blocking, route-running and field vision that make the big runs, throws, catches and tackles possible.

This week, NFL Films Big Play Breakdown presented by USA Football takes a closer look at a late, fourth-quarter pass by Falcons QB Matt Ryan to WR Roddy White against the Panthers in Week 4.

In-depth analysis of the fundamentals of this play can be seen for free exclusively at http://videos.usafootball.com/pages/bigplaybreakdown/ with new segments posted throughout the NFL season.

With less than a minute remaining, Ryan and the Falcons found themselves in the shadow of their own goal post after a Carolina punt was downed at the 1-yard line. Ryan connected with White on the very next play and got into Panthers territory, eventually setting up the game-winning, 40-yard field goal by K Matt Bryant.

Diving deeper into the anatomy of the play, it was the execution of second-year WR Julio Jones and a crafty blocking scheme executed by G Garrett Reynolds that helped make this play a success. Attention to these fundamentals is not commonly pointed out on highlight reels but allows big plays to happen.

Approximately 3 million children age 6-14 play organized youth tackle football, placing it among America's most popular youth sports. Indianapolis-based USA Football is the official youth football development partner of the Falcons, the NFL and each of the league's other 31 teams.
