Falcons Claim G Jordan Walsh Off Waivers

The Atlanta Falcons claim guard Jordan Walsh off waivers and waive guard Shahbaz Ahmed. The team has also waived/injured nose tackle Chris Mayes.

Walsh was signed as a college free agent following the 2016 NFL Draft out of Iowa. He finished his four-year collegiate career with 38 career starts, seeing time at both guard positions over 46 games played while with the Hawkeyes. Walsh made all 14 starts at right guard as a senior in 2015, earning first team All-Big Ten by league coaches.

Ahmed started at left guard for 12 of 13 games for Temple last season. He was part of a starting offensive line that led the FBS in time of possession improvement from last season.

Mayes saw action in 30 games with nine starts and recorded 79 total tackles for the Bulldogs.
