The touchdown cut the Eagles lead to three at 31-28 with 10:45 remaining in the game. Atlanta's defense forced the Eagles to punt on the next drive, giving the offense the ball back with 8:12 remaining in the game. RB Michael Turner put the Falcons within striking distance with a season-long 61-yard run down to the Eagles 26-yard line. Five plays later, Turner punched in a 3-yard touchdown run to give Atlanta the lead.
The win marked the 14th time that Ryan has led the Falcons on a game-winning drive in the fourth quarter or overtime and improved his record at the Georgia Dome to 21-2, while the Falcons improved to 34-16 overall under head coach Mike Smith.
