Cheerleader Auditions Set to Begin Sunday

Flowery Branch will be filled with plenty of beautiful Atlanta Falcons Cheerleaders hopefuls on Sunday as 2013 auditions get underway as more than 200 ladies are expected at the Falcons' training facility to compete in preliminaries.

The team will be named Wednesday, after final auditions are held — which will be carried live on AtlantaFalcons.com.

The process for auditions started long ago as hopefuls attended audition prep classes, the final one being held Saturday afternoon. The classes were a chance for the veteran cheerleaders to help those who are hoping to join the squad this year.

"The audition procress is an eye-opening experience for any dancer, cheerleader or performer," veteran cheerleader Denita C. said. "You realize how many young talented girls there are who are just like you. Prelims and semifinals are high-energy and fast paced. There's so much going on but you have to stay focused and confident."

Preliminary auditions Sunday are open to the public and begin at 9:30 a.m. ET at the Falcons' training facility in Flowery Branch, Ga. Final auditions are closed to the public.

AtlantaFalcons.com will be on hand during all audition sessions as the search begins for the 2013 Atlanta Falcons Cheerleaders.
