Cardinals vs. Falcons: Damontae Kazee ruled out with ankle injury; no decision yet on Julio Jones

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. – One player that won't be on the field at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Saturday night when the Falcons take on the Arizona Cardinals is defensive back Damontae Kazee.

The rookie suffered a sprained ankle in the Falcons' 17-13 preseason loss at Pittsburgh.

While the team will be without Kazee, Falcons coach Dan Quinn said the team is hopeful to get linebacker Jermaine Grace and receiver Josh Magee back this week. Both Grace and Magee did not play against the Steelers.

Quinn also said Devonta Freeman is nearing the end of the league's concussion protocol and he hopes to have him back soon.

As for the latest on Julio Jones and whether he will play on Saturday, Quinn has yet to decide. The Falcons will take Jones through the week before making the call. The Pro Bowl wide receiver has yet to take any snaps in any of the Falcons' exhibition games.

"We'll take it through the week – he had a good week last week, he did a bunch in the pre- game," Quinn said. "If he looks good and wants to get some into this week and keeps progressing like he has, that'd be something we consider."

The Falcons will kick things off against the Cardinals at 7 p.m. ET on Saturday.
