The Black College Football Hall of Fame announced today 25 Finalists will be on the ballot for induction into the 2015 Black College Football Hall of Fame. The list includes 20 players and five coaches/contributors.
The Finalists were selected from a field of 180 nominees by a 13-member Selection Committee composed of prominent journalists, television commentators and historians, as well as former NFL player personnel executives.
The committee will meet again in the coming weeks to select the seven members (six players and one coach/contributor) who will be inducted as the Black College Football Hall of Fame Class of 2015. All living inductees from the previous Hall of Fame classes will also have the opportunity to submit their votes.
"HBCU football has an incredible history, dating back to the 1800's," said NFL player personnel expert Gil Brandt, a member of the Selection Committee. "Choosing which players, coaches and contributors are enshrined becomes more difficult each year."
This year's inductees will be announced on November 5, 2014. They will be honored at the Black College Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Ceremony, Presented by the Atlanta Falcons on February 28, 2015 in Atlanta, Georgia. More information can be found at www.BlackCollegeFootballHOF.org.
