RB Freeman Named NFL Ground Player of the Week

Atlanta Falcons running back Devonta Freeman has been named the Ground NFL Player of the Week for his performance in Week 3 against the Dallas Cowboys.

Freeman had a career day against the Dallas Cowboys, rushing for 141 yards on 30 carries with three touchdowns to lift Atlanta to a 39-28 win at AT&T Stadium. The second-year running back from Florida State averaged 4.7 yards per carry and also added 52 yards on five receptions. Freeman's 193 scrimmage yards are the most by any NFC player in a single game this season. Freeman's three rushing touchdowns marked the first time a Falcon running back has rushed for three touchdowns since RB Michael Turner accomplished the feat in 2010. Additionally his 141 rushing yards were the most by an NFL player in Week 3 and the most by a Falcons running back since Turner rushed for 172 yards in Week 17 of the 2011 season.
