Instant Reaction: Falcons 48, Panthers 33

The Atlanta Falcons are ready to battle the Carolina Panthers in the Georgia Dome this week as they look for another division win. Here are pictures from the game.

The Falcons continued their offensive success on Sunday when QB Matt Ryan and WR Julio Jones led their team to a 48-33 win over the Carolina Panthers.

Jones got rolling early, recording the first three catches of Atlanta's opening drive. The Pro Bowl WR finished the day with a whopping 300 yards on 12 receptions, a franchise record.

Ryan broke his own franchise record for most passing yards in a single game by throwing for 503 yards.

Atlanta's offense showed their versatility yet again when Ryan was able to get his speedy wide receivers, Taylor Gabriel and Aldrick Robinson, involved. Robinson tallied his first touchdown as a Falcon on a 35-yard touchdown pass.

Ryan again utilized his tight ends, with both Austin Hooper and Jacob Tamme finding the end zone.  Hooper's first score as a Falcon was a 42-yard touchdown.

Not to be overshadowed by the stellar performance the Falcons' offense put on display, Atlanta's defense held Carolina's ground game to 49 yards.

The Falcons' pass rush, led by Dwight Freeney who recorded one sack on Cam Newton, looked much improved. Prior to leaving the game in the fourth quarter to be evaluated for a concussion, Newton threw for just 165 yards, and was held to 30 yards on the ground.
