Falcons Replace Practice Squad TE Branson with TE Gallarda

The Atlanta Falcons today signed tight end Tommy Gallarda to the practice squad and practice squad injured tight end Marquez Branson.

Gallarda, 6-5, 262 pounds, was originally signed as a college free agent by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2011. He was a four-year letterman at Boise State University, where he totaled 25 receptions for 257 yards and nine touchdowns. As a senior, Gallarda played in seven games for the Broncos posting seven catches for 63 yards and three scores before missing the final seven games with an injury.

Branson, 6-3, 247 pounds, was originally signed by the Denver Broncos as a rookie free agent following the 2009 NFL Draft. He was signed to the Falcons practice squad on October 28, 2010 and later signed as a reserve/future free agent by the Falcons on January 18, 2011. He was signed to of the Falcons practice squad again on September 5, 2011.
