Falcons minicamp: Dontari Poe to reportedly cash in after meeting weight requirement

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- Not only was Tuesday the first day of mandatory veteran minicamp for the Falcons, it was also weigh-in day for Dontari Poe.

It was widely reported that if Poe weighed in at less than 340 pounds, he would receive a bonus of $125,000.

Poe was asked if he made weight following practice, and defensive tackle cracked a smile and said, "I'm where I need to be."

Poe even joked about the dinner he was going to eat come Tuesday night, "I got dinner for me, a slim dinner."

Coach Dan Quinn praised Poe's commitment this offseason to his to his diet and workouts.

"We're pleased where Dontari is at, weight-wise, workout-wise," Quinn said. "We've got some strong men, he's one of them. As we're going through some of testing strength wise, he's certainly been one that's impressed us in that way."

The Falcons' minicamp continues Wednesday and Thursday. Wednesday's session at the team's training facility in Flowery Branch begins at 2:05 p.m. ET and is open to the public. The gates open at 1:05 p.m., admission is free and parking is available at the Hog Mountain Sports Complex.

Players will be available for an autograph session following practice.
