ESPN releases future power rankings for 2018 season, Falcons earn Top 10 spot

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. --  The Falcons' roster is loaded with talent from top to bottom with many of their core players under the age of 27.

In ESPN’s most recent power rankings for 2018 list, the Falcons earned the No. 6 spot. The teams ahead of Atlanta? Philadelphia (No.1), New England (No. 2), New Orleans (No.3), Minnesota (No.4), Pittsburgh (No.5).

Here's ESPN Insider Field Yates' reasoning for where he placed Atlanta:

"While the NFL is an ever-evolving league, the Falcons have what many would consider a very modern collection of talent on their roster: linebackers with exceptional speed, depth along the defensive front, a two-headed backfield, a versatile corps of receivers, depth in the secondary and, of course, a blue-chip quarterback. GM Thomas Dimitroff and his experienced front office have landed coups in recent drafts (Deion Jones, Grady Jarrett, Vic Beasley, Takk McKinley and Keanu Neal among them) to balance a roster full of veterans in their prime."

The Falcons return 10 of 11 starters on both sides of the ball from the 2017 season.
