Dimitroff on Michigan's Peppers: 'He's a Winner'

Michigan's Jabrill Peppers has been dubbed by several draft experts as one of the most intriguing playersin this year's draft class.

And his versatility has peaked interest from Falcons head coach Dan Quinn and general manager Thomas Dimitroff.

"He's a winner, plain and simple," Dimitroff said of Peppers during his pre-draft press conference. "He's a smart football player and a tough, tough competitive guy who is versatile. I think he'll do well in this league."

Peppers played 933 snaps at 15 different positions during his final season in Ann Arbor, ultimately winning the Paul Hornung Award given to the nation's most versatile player. He led the Wolverines in tackles for loss (16), recorded four sacks, rushed for 167 yards on 27 carries and scored three total touchdowns.

Not only has Peppers proven to be an impact player on defense, his illusive speed allows him to be an asset on offense and a marquee special teams player.

If the Falcons were to select Peppers with the No. 31 overall pick next Thursday night, the Michigan star will play safety, per Quinn.

"[He's] one of the rare guys you have to put on all the three sides of the tape," Quinn said. "We see him as a safety for our team and how he would play here."

Speed and versatility are two traits Quinn and Dimitroff value highly and Peppers certainly checks those boxes.
