2015 Position Review: Special Teams

Stats of Note:P Matt Bosher kicked off 74 times this season with 52 touchbacks, which was seventh-best in the NFL this season.

Prior to being placed on injured reserve in Week 14, K Matt Bryant connected on six field goals over 40 yards this season.

Veteran kicker Shayne Graham was signed to fill in for Bryant, and he was 11 of 12 on field goal attempts this season. He was also three of three on field goal attempts from 50-plus yards, which was tied for first in field goal percentage from 50-plus yards (100-percent).

WR Eric Weems was the Falcons' lead return man until Week 13, when Devin Hester returned from injured reserve-designated to return. Weems averaged 11.6 yards per punt, which was fourth in the NFL, among players who had 15-plus punt returns.

Hester racked up 296 combined punt/kickoff return yards on eight returns, in the five games he played.

LB Nate Stupar led the team in special teams tackles with nine on the season.

How the Falcons Rank:The Falcons ranked fourth in the NFL in kickoff return average (25.7). Atlanta was ranked 13th in total special teams rankings, earning an overall grade of 35.0, according to PFF.

Standout Player: Bosher. The Falcons' punter was one of Atlanta's most consistent players in 2015. He finished sixth in the NFL in yards per punt (47.2).

Potential Draft Target: Ross Martin out of Duke. He was 26 for 30 on field goals in 2015, and hit three field goals of 50-plus yards.
