The news comes after starting right tackle Kaleb McGary was carted off the field last Wednesday and backup tackle Storm Norton underwent ankle surgery.

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — The Atlanta Falcons and Seattle Seahawks agreed to a trade before Tuesday's roster reduction deadline, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

The Falcons are reportedly sending a conditional 2027 seventh-round draft pick to Seattle in exchange for offensive tackle Michael Jerrell.

The Seahawks drafted Jerrell in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft. He appeared in 10 games as a rookie, starting three. In total, he took 250 offensive snaps, which was good for 39% of the unit's total during those games. According to PFF, all but five of those snaps came at right tackle. He allowed three sacks.

Atlanta's starting right tackle, Kaleb McGary, sustained a leg injury last Wednesday during the final practice of training camp. Morris said after Friday's preseason finale McGary will miss “significant time” and an injured reserve designation could be possible.

McGary's backup, swing tackle Storm Norton, missed the majority of training camp with what Morris called a lower-body injury. Last Wednesday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Norton underwent ankle injury and is expected to miss six to eight weeks.

Offensive lineman Elijah Wilkinson filled in for McGary during 11-on-11 work last Wednesday in practice but was held out of Friday's loss to the Dallas Cowboys out of precaution. In that game, rookie Jack Nelson and 2024 free-agent signing Brandon Parker took the majority of the offensive snaps at tackle.

The Falcons must turn in their initial 53-man roster to the NFL by 4 p.m. ET.
