Falcons head coach Mike Smith said finding ways to win in the fourth quarter is a part of this team's DNA

Opening Statement:

"We talked all week about ball security and being able to control the tempo in all three phases of the game and I think we got that accomplished today. I think all three phases contributed to us having the success that we had. That's a very good football team that we played today. It was very hard fought. They made a lot of plays, we were able to make some plays. We made our mistakes, they made their mistakes. I'm really proud of the way the guys performed today their effort was outstanding."

**

On winning in the fourth quarter:**

"It's part of the makeup of what we feel like you've got to do to be successful you've got to score points in the fourth quarter of the ballgame either to seal the game or to be able to come back. We've been able to do that. It was a very god drive there at the end off of the kickoff return by WR Eric Weems to get that winning field goal there at the end of the ballgame."

On the decisions to go for it on fourth down:

"We've got a lot of confidence in our offense. There were two instances that we felt like you've got to be able to move the ball inside the one yard line on fourth and one. We felt like we had to score points, that offense is very potent and we felt like seven points was necessary there. Earlier in the game on the fourth and three we felt like we had a couple of plays in the bank so to speak to convert that. We had to improvise a little bit, but QB Matt (Ryan) did a great job of improvising on that play."

On the resiliency of the team:

"I can't say enough about the resiliency of this team. The way that they come to work, the way that they play the game, it was a team effort. They never once blink even when things go bad, we give up the touchdown on the fourth and 11, the guys come over they know that we're going to move the ball. We take it out, we knock the kickoff with our special teams out, we get some help with the facemask penalty and we're basically a completion away from having K Matt Bryant in his range. I can't say enough about Matt. He's kicking the ball between the pipes every opportunity he gets."

**

On the play of the defensive line, in particular on the fumble recovery in the first half:**

"It was huge. The defensive line, they had tough duty today all around because that's a very good quarterback that gets the ball out of his hands very quickly. I think they had not turned the ball over, just like we hadn't turned the ball over in three or four games. I know we hadn't turned it over in three, I think it was four for them. It was a big play, it was a momentum changer that's for sure."
