The Falcons have the day off on Saturday after Friday's Friday Night Lights event at Peachtree Ridge High School. But they will return to the practice field on Sunday to resume training camp.

On Monday they'll take a road trip into Dalton, Ga for a practice with the Tennessee Titans. Head coach Mike Smith said he and his staff or using Friday's scrimmage, Monday's joint practice and next week's first preseason game as a measuring sticks to evaluate the players after the conclusion of the first two weeks of training camp.

"I'm real excited about switching gears and going to north Georgia to have an opportunity to work against the Tennessee Titans on Monday," Smith said on Friday. "We're really looking at these three events: Friday Night Lights, working against the Titans and the first preseason game, we've had a plan of how we want to work out guys. Certain guys are going to work more tonight than they are in the preseason game on Thursday night. We try to look at them as three separate, but really together, events in terms of practice plan."

Smith said the practice will be more of a practice than a scrimmage and will only allow the teams to face off each against each other as they would in a single team practice during camp.

"We will work against their first group but it will not be full speed," Smith said. "(Tennessee head coach) Coach Munchak and I have talked about how we want the practice to go. It will be a practice like we would be practicing at our separate facilities; we're just going to be working against each other. There will be no tackling and we won't be taking anybody to the ground."
