Jay's Takeaways - August 3

AtlantaFalcons.com managing editor Jay Adams gives his three takeaways of the day throughout camp

## Being like Mike

Michael Jenkins has had a pretty stunning camp. The veteran wide receiver has been catching passes that shouldn't be caught, all while being covered very well by a strengthened defensive secondary. Jenkins is a huge target, and quarterback Matt Ryan seems to know exactly where to put the ball where only Jenkins can grab it. The duo is really on the same page in the downfield attack.

## What's that Snell?

With Jerious Norwood sidelined with an injury, running back Jason Snelling got plenty of carries during Tuesday morning's practice. With a similar body type to that of Michael Turner, Snelling provides a bit of insurance at the position. When Turner went down last season with an injury, Snelling stepped in and got some valuable game experience. That should pay off if he's needed this year.

## Speaking of The Burner

Turner has been working a lot on getting himself more incorporated into the passing game. Adding an extra element to his game really could make this offense even more dangerous than it already is. Turner is coming around in that department — catching some balls, dropping others — but if he can find a level of consistency, he could be extremely dangerous out in the flat.
