FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. – The Falcons announced the signing of nine players to reserve future contracts on Monday afternoon.

For those who need an explanation of what a "futures contract" is, it's a contract that will officially take effect once the new league year begins in early March. NFL roster sizes will expand to a 90-player max at the beginning of the new league year, but they must stick to a 53-man roster until that point.

A futures contract is essentially an agreement that a player will be under contract with a team once the new league year begins.

Here is a list of the players the Falcons have signed to a futures contract:

  • Marcelis Branch, S
  • Daniel Brunskill, OL
  • Deante Burton, CB
  • Reggie Davis, WR
  • Alex Gray, TE
  • Garrett Grayson, QB
  • Joey Ivie, DL
  • J.T. Jones, DL
  • Taniela Tupou, DL
