London Food Gets Mixed Reviews Among Falcons

The meme "Feed Antone" on social media took on a whole new meaning Wednesday night as the running back bounded down the stairs and met a man in the lobby of the team hotel with a delivery for him.

A toothy grin flashed across Antone Smith's face as he happily traversed the stairs back to his room with a fresh box of pizza in his hands.

"(The pizza) here is great... I shared it with Quizz (Jacquizz Rodgers) and told the guys they need to order them some," Smith said while laughing Thursday. "The rest of the food is not as great, so pizza is the way for me the rest of the weekend."

The Falcons are being provided breakfast, lunch, dinner and team snack at the team's hotel outside London and the fare has been largely American-style food — burgers, steak, pasta, chicken — with a British twist, but the team had a chance earlier in the week to get out and about to taste some of the British culture outside the grounds of the hotel.

Plenty of players are enjoying the British offerings and disagree with Smith and his crusade to make local pizza parlors rich this week.

"The food here is pretty darn good," defensive end Kroy Biermann said. "They're doing a good job of feeding us and I feel good."
