The 1998 Falcons were a team that no one expected to make an impact in the postseason, much less finish the regular season with a 14-2 record. This seasoned team won their first home playoff game in franchise history, followed by an overtime victory in the NFL Championship to send the Dirty Birds to their very first Super Bowl appearance.
