Biography

CAREER

  • Played in nine games in 2025, totaling two tackles and one interception on defense, in addition to six tackles (two solo) on special teams.
  • Caught the game-sealing interception against the Bills in Week 6, the first interception of his career (2025).
  • Notched a career-high three special teams tackles (one solo) in the Week 4 contest (2025).
  • Has played in 58 games, recording 34 tackles (20 solo), seven tackles for loss, five quarterback hits, three sacks and one interception for the Falcons on defense and 25 tackles on special teams (12 solo).
  • Played in all 17 games in 2024, recording seven tackles (four solo), three tackles for loss, two sacks and three quarterback hits. He also tallied nine tackles (four solo) on special teams.
  • Recorded two sacks in the Week 15 win at Las Vegas, marking his first-career multi-sack game.
  • Saw action in all 17 games in 2023, contributing on defense and special teams. Recorded five tackles (four solo) on special teams and one tackle on defense.

  • Led the Hilltoppers in sacks (9.0), tackles for loss (17.5) and forced fumbles (four) in 14 games (14 starts) in 2021.
  • Also recorded more total tackles (94) than any FBS defensive lineman last season, marking the second time he accomplished that feat in the past three years (99 total tackles in 2019).
  • Finished his college career as the all-time sack leader in program history with 34, while his 60 tackles for loss were the second most in school history.
  • Named MVP of the American team at the 2022 Senior Bowl.

PERSONAL

  • Attended Cedar Grove HS in Ellenwood, Ga. as a senior after playing three seasons at Martin Luther King High.
  • Led Cedar Grove to a 13-2 record and a GHSA Divison 3A state championship as a senior after recording 49 tackles and eight tackles for loss.
  • Earned first-team all-state honors as a defensive lineman as a senior.
  • First cousin of Falcons' 2022 sixth-round selection Justin Shaffer.
  • Was high school teammates with Shaffer and Indianapolis Colts' tight end Jelani Woods at Cedar Grove High School, and was teammates with Arden Key and Terez Hall at Martin Luther King.
  • Started his high school career as a wide receiver and running back before moving to defensive end as a junior.
