Biography

Robert Prince was named Atlanta Falcons wide receivers coach on Jan. 26, 2026.

Prince joins the Falcons after spending the 2025 season as the Miami Dolphins' wide receivers coach following 11 seasons in the same role for the Dallas Cowboys (2022-24), Houston Texans (2021) and Detroit Lions (2014-20). While with the Cowboys, Prince coached wideout CeeDee Lamb to three consecutive Pro Bowl selections (2022-24) and first-team All-Pro honors in 2023. He also guided Pro Football Hall of Famer Calvin Johnson to the Pro Bowl in both of their seasons together (2014-15), along with leading Golden Tate (2014) and Kenny Golladay (2019) to Pro Bowl honors. Throughout his tenure in Detroit, the Lions' receivers ranked fourth in the NFL in receiving yards (19,749) and seventh in receptions (1,484) and receiving touchdowns (123).

Prior to Detroit, Prince spent time at the collegiate level as the offensive coordinator for Boise State (2012-13), assuming the role after one season as wide receivers coach (2011). He also spent one season as pass game coordinator and wide receivers coach for Colorado (2010) after spending the 2009 season as wide receivers coach for the Seattle Seahawks. Prince began his NFL coaching career with the Falcons as an offensive assistant/running backs coach/tight ends coach from 2004-05, spending the 2006 season as assistant quarterbacks coach. He worked with Michael Vick in 2006, helping Vick become the first quarterback to rush for more than 1,000 yards in a single season, finishing with 2,474 passing yards and 1,039 rushing. Prince also spent two seasons (2007-08) as assistant wide receivers coach for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Prince's coaching career began at the collegiate level as a graduate assistant for Humboldt State (1989-90) and Montana State (1991). He spent two seasons (1992-93) as wide receivers coach for Sacramento State before taking over as offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach for Fort Lewis (1994-95). Prince returned to coaching wide receivers for Portland State in 1998 before being promoted to offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach for the 1999-2000 seasons. He spent three seasons at Boise State, two as wide receivers coach (2001-02) and one as pass game coordinator (2003) before heading to Atlanta.

Prince was born in Okinawa, Japan, moving to San Bernardino, Calif., at seven. He played wide receiver at San Bernardino Valley College and Humbolt State, where he earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics and a master's degree in physical education.
