Younghoe Koo named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week

For his performance in the Falcons' 40-20 win against the Carolina Panthers, Younghoe Koo has been named the NFC's Special Teams Player of the Week.

The Falcons kicker was a perfect 4-of-4 on both field goal attempts and extra points during the victory, including banking in a 50-yard kick during the fourth quarter. Koo didn't just make an impact with his leg, however. In the third quarter, he came up with a big fumble recovery on a kickoff that set the Falcons up to break the game wide open.

"The players were definitely excited for him after they found out that he was the one that recovered it," Falcons coach Dan Quinn said. "It was a good day by him; we certainly called bank on the 50-yarder. It was a good day. He's making progress and gaining it as he's going. We're going to keep pushing him to get to that spot."

This is the second time this season that Koo has been named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week. He also won the award for his performance against the New Orleans Saints in Week 10.
