Biography
Wintrich joins the Falcons after spending the last three years as an adjunct professor at Linfield University in Oregon.
Wintrich comes to Atlanta after most recently serving as director of health and fitness for the National Defense University in 2025, following four years (2021-25) as the human performance program manager with the United States Department of Justice and a brief stint as the H2F Program Director for the U.S. Army's third brigade combat team and first armored division in 2021.
Prior to his time with the U.S. Army, Wintrich spent several years at the collegiate level, serving as director of football performance at UCLA (2018-21), Virginia (2016-18), BYU (2015) and North Texas (2010-15). He also worked as associate director of strength and conditioning at South Florida (2008-10), director of strength and conditioning at The Citadel (2006-08) and assistant strength and conditioning coach at Utah State (2003-05). Wintrich began his coaching career as a coaching assistant at Arizona State from 2003-04. A native of Seminole, Fla., he earned a bachelor of science in sports and fitness management from Kentucky Wesleyan in 2002.
