What They Said: Falcons at Panthers

Falcons head coach Mike Smith's evaluation of the Week 11 win: "I can't tell you how proud I am of guys in that locker room, players and coaches. It wasn't pretty at times, but we got some plays made in critical times and as you guys know, winning in the NFL is not easy. We've got a lot of corrections that we've got to make. We made a lot of mistakes in the ball game, but we're going to go home and do that. The goal was very simple this week and that was to leave Carolina 1-0 and we got that accomplished. We'll start the process Monday for the exact same goal and that's to be 1-0 at the end of next week."

Falcons QB Matt Ryan on Roddy White surpassing 10,000 career receiving yards: "I just want to say how proud I am of Roddy (White) for passing the milestone that he has. Certainly, he's shown great longevity throughout his career and has made a huge impact on my own career, so I couldn't be happier for him. Now he's got to go get to 11,000."

Falcons WR Roddy White on the Week 11 win outshining the 10,000-career-receiving-yards milestone: "The win is more gratifying, knowing that we're 4-0 in our division right now. We just have to keep grinding and keep winning games and keep doing what we do in our division and hopefully we find a way to win this division; if we can do that, we'll have a home playoff game and that'll be great."

Falcons WR Devin Hester on his penalty for coming to the defense of Harry Douglas: "I regret the penalty and I wish I would have approached it a different way, but it (extra rough play) was happening so long that there was nobody stopping it, so I had to hurry up and get over there. This is probably one of the most intense games I've ever played."

Falcons WR Julio Jones on the team's amount of work still to be done: "We still have a long way to go. We have to continue to keep working, week in and week out, and finding ways to win; that's what championship teams do, find a way to win. It doesn't matter how you do it, if it's ugly or you blow people out, it doesn't matter, find a way to win."

Falcons TE Levine Toilolo on his key 20-yard reception: "It was like a wheel route, where we fake the screen to the receiver and try to get one up the sideline. Matt (Ryan) threw a great ball; he did a great job of reading the defender, who was tight on my hip, so he threw it back shoulder. I'm just glad I was able to make the play."

Falcons LB Paul Worrilow on being in first place in the NFC South: "That's what we expected going in, with all division games, you expect that and we knew it was going to come down to the end and when they got some momentum, it really did."

Falcons DT Corey Peters on earning the win, now in first place in the NFC South: "We'll take it. It's not how we wanted to finish the game, but a win is a win. The way that the season has been going, we're happy to have any win."

Falcons DE Ra'Shede Hageman on his game-clinching blocked field goal: "We had seen the same play on film and me and Tyson (Jackson) changed up, so I was able to get through the line and just make a play. It's just me doing my job; that's what the team expects me to do. At the end of the day, I'm here to do a job and everybody else is doing the same thing."

Falcons CB Desmond Trufant on his interception: "It was third down, third and short. I knew it was going to be a quick rhythm gain and that he was going to try and get it out quick. I just sat on the route and broke on it and Cam (Newton) threw it; he threw it right to me and then I just caught it. I'm just glad I caught it; it was a big play."
