Takk McKinley suffered groin injury in Falcons' win over Panthers

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. – Defensive end Takkarist McKinley injured his groin in Sunday's win over the Panthers. McKinley, who has two sacks on the season so far, was not on the field for the final few series of the game.

Falcons head coach Dan Quinn said he'll have an update on McKinley's injury Wednesday when the team begins practice for the Saints. The first injury report of the week is also released that day.

Derrick Shelby was another defensive player who suffered an injury to his groin. Guard Andy Levitre injured his elbow and was unable to return to the game.
