FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — The Atlanta Falcons' 2025 practice squad began with familiar names and has been updated with fresh ones.
The 13 players the Falcons signed to the practice squad Wednesday were all a part of the 90-man preseason roster at some point. Two more were added to the practice squad roster Thursday, as the Falcons signed offensive tackles Ryan Hayes and Carter Warren. Both are newcomers to Atlanta.
Each was selected in the 2023 NFL Draft, so they're relatively new to league as well.
Hayes comes to Atlanta from the Miami Dolphins, who selected him in the seventh round. He mainly spent the last two seasons on the practice squad. He was elevated three times total and played in one of those games last year, taking four snaps on special teams.
Warren was previously with the New York Jets, who selected him in the fourth round. He played in 14 games, starting six, between 2023-24 and was heavily used on offense (544 career snaps) rather than special teams (20 career snaps). As a rookie, he recorded a fumble recovery.
Just like Tuesday’s initial roster, the Falcons' practice squad is not set in stone. There is a spot remaining for the Falcons to fill on the practice squad, and both will change throughout the season.
