FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — The Atlanta Falcons made some adjustments to their practice squad Saturday in order to decide upon two standard elevations for Week 1.
First, the Falcons released defensive lineman Simeon Barrow Jr. from the practice squad and signed wide receiver David Sills V to the unit.
Then, the Falcons named Sills and running back Carlos Washington Jr. as their standard elevations for Sunday's opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Sills was released from the Falcons' 53-man active roster Friday. He has appeared in 16 career games since 2021, either for the Denver Broncos (2023) or the New York Giants (2021-22). His most productive season was in 2022, when he totaled 11 receptions for 106 yards in nine games.
Washington has been in Atlanta since 2023 when the Falcons signed him as an undrafted free agent. He has primarily been on the practice squad, but last year, the Falcons signed him to the active roster in Week 15 when former running back Jase McClellan was placed on injured reserve. Washington appeared in one game — the Week 18 overtime loss to the Carolina Panthers — on special teams. Washington was out for majority of the 2025 training camp and preseason with a hamstring injury.
The Falcons-Buccaneers game is scheduled to kick off at 1 p.m. ET inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium. FOX will carry live coverage.
Reminder: Every team can elevate two players from the practice squad to the active roster for each game day. A player is allowed three elevations per season. A fourth elevation would require the player to be signed to the 53-man roster.
