Selected by the Falcons in the third round (81st overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft.

2016 (Falcons)

In 14 games, Hooper caught 19 passes for 271 yards (14.3 yards per reception) with three touchdowns.

Made his NFL debut against Tampa Bay (9/11), catching one pass for 14 yards.

Had a breakout game at Oakland (9/18). Caught three passes for 84 yards, including a 44-yard grab. Combined with TE Jacob Tamme (75 yards) to become the first set of tight ends in franchise history to have 75+ receiving yards in the same game.

Caught his first career touchdown on a 42-yard deep ball from QB Matt Ryan against Carolina (10/2).

Pulled in his second career touchdown on a two-yard pass from Matt Ryan at Tampa Bay (11/3). Finished the game with three catches for 46 yards (15.3 YPC).

Caught his third career touchdown pass on a nine-yard reception against San Francisco (12/18).

COLLEGE

Played in 27 games in his two years as a Cardinal. Caught 74 passes for 937 yards and eight touchdowns during his career.

During his sophomore year in 2015, Hooper was a Mackey Award finalist and was selected to the All-Pac 12 first team. He recorded 34 catches for 438 yards and six receiving touchdowns during his final year at Stanford.

Also earned third team All-America honors from the AP and second team honors from Phil Steele.

Earned freshman All-American and second-team All-Pac 12 honors in 2014 after posting 40 catches for 499 yards and two touchdowns.

PERSONAL

Attended De La Salle (Calif.) while playing for head coach Bob Ladouceur. Was a 2012 Tacoma News Tribune Western 100 and a two-time San Francisco Chronicle all-Metro selection.

Led De La Salle to the 2010, 2011 and 2012 CIF Open Division state titles. De La Salle went 15-0 and ranked No. 1 nationally by ESPN and MaxPreps in 2012.

Caught 11 passes for 293 yards and three touchdowns with 39 tackles and 8.0 sacks in 2012. Posted nine catches for 182 yards and two touchdowns with 46 tackles and 10.5 sacks in 2011.

Lettered in track and field and was all-league in the shot put with a 57-8 personal best.

Born in San Mateo, Calif. His full name is Austin Manuel Hooper. Parents are Michael and Lillian Hooper. His father played football at San Diego State while his uncle also played at Stanford. His brother, Justin, plays baseball at UCLA. Majored in Psychology.
