Falcons announce signing of three defensive players

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga – The Falcons announced a trio of signings on Tuesday, adding defensive back Tyson Graham and defensive tackles Garrison Smith and Justin Zimmer.

Graham, 24, was signed by the Indianapolis Colts as a college free agent following the 2017 NFL Draft; he was released prior to the start of the regular season. At South Dakota he competed in 44 games and finished his collegiate career with 233 tackles, five interceptions, and three sacks.

Smith, 26, played at the University of Georgia and was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Miami Dolphins following the 2014 NFL Draft. He has spent time on the Dolphins', San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks' practice squad. He played in 11 total games with the Seahawks, while tallying 14 total tackles. Zimmer, 25, was signed as a college free agent by the Buffalo Bills following the 2016 NFL Draft and was released prior to the start of the regular season. He spent time with the New Orleans Saints during training camp in 2017. He spent part of the 2017 season in the Canadian Football League with the Montreal Alouettes.
