Coleman injured his hamstring in Week 7 and has been unable to play since. The second-year running back possess an explosive style of running, one so unique that head coach Dan Quinn wanted to make sure was 100 percent before letting Coleman return.
Trufant missed his first game as a Falcon when Atlanta traveled to Philadelphia in Week 10 with a shoulder injury.
“Both of them looked extremely fast,” Quinn said of Coleman and Trufant. “That’s what we were checking to see with Tev. Would he have the speed to get in and out of his breaks that makes him such a unique player. We wanted to see Tru with the ball skills and moving around like he did. Both of those guys were off to a good start today.”
Atlanta resumes practice on Wednesday when the team’s first injury report of the week will be released ahead of Sunday’s matchup with the Arizona Cardinals.
