Julio Jones participates in 11-on-11 drills for the first time during Falcons training camp

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- After undergoing surgery on his toe this offseason, Julio Jones was unable to participate in any team drills for the Falcons until Wednesday when he saw action in the team's 11-on-11 drills.

Jones was limited to individual work during the team's first four practices. The Falcons have a detailed plan in place on how they are managing the workload of the Pro Bowl wide receiver.

"We knew he's moving back closer," Falcons coach Dan Quinn said of Jones' return to team drills. "The first four-day block it was going to be all the individual [work] getting the conditioning right. Now we are going back to return to play, so to speak. He got four to five [reps] today. It was great to have him back today."

Quinn said there has been no decision made in regards to how much action Jones will see during preseason games. The Falcons' first preseason game is Aug. 10 in Miami against the Dolphins.

MORE INJURY NOTES

The only player not able to participate in practice was receiver Andre Roberts who was having his best days of camp prior to suffering an undisclosed injury. Quinn is hopeful that Roberts will be back on the field "in the next day or two."

As for other news on the injury front for the Falcons – defensive back Damontae Kazee rolled his ankle in practice but was able to return to action.
