Falcons Alumni Spend Gameday Together

Prior to Sunday's contest against Washington, dozens of Falcons alumni gathered at the Philip Arena Taco Mac to reminisce about old times, meet each other's families and opine on the 2015 team.

Among those in attendance was running back Jerious Norwood, who spent five seasons in Atlanta. The 2006 third-round draft pick relished the opportunity to catch up with friends and get to know those who wore the red and black before him.

"It's a lot of fun. The guys that are able to hang out—they bring back a lot of old memories," he said. "Now that we're not playing ball anymore, it's just great to remember the good days and good times we had together as a unit, as one."

Norwood, a member of the pivotal 2008 club, sees a lot of similarities between that turnaround campaign and this one.

"Man, I think the Atlanta Falcons are going to a whole 'nother level," he said. "There's been some up points, and there's been some down points, but right now we're undefeated. It's only going to get better with time, so hold onto your seats and ride this train."

Ring of Honor member Tommy Nobis attended, as well, and brought a treasure trove of stories from his 11 years with the organization.

"There's just so many memories, some of them you'd like to forget, but this is a great thing to have," he said. "We don't get to see one another enough, and it's great to visit with one another. The game doesn't really change, and your memories—you try to hold on to them as long as you can, which I've tried to do."

Like Norwood, Nobis had a lot of good things to say about Dan Quinn and the 2015 Falcons.

"(Quinn's) a good man, he has a good staff," said Nobis. "There are a lot of things that I've seen and heard that make me excited about being a part of it, staying a part of it. There are a lot of things to be proud of."
