Bernie Parmaleeenters his third season with the Falcons. He will return to coaching the team's running backs in 2020.
In 2019, Parmalee started the year as special teams assistant/offensive assistant, but after a few coaching transitions during the Bye week were needed to solidify the defense, he was moved to running backs coach. The team averaged 3.8 yards per carry in the last eight games of the season and totaled 813 yards and seven touchdowns. Paramlee worked with Qadree Ollison in his first season in the NFL, who tallied four rushing touchdowns, the most rushing touchdowns by a Falcons rookie since Ito Smith in 2018. The big-bodied power back scored all of his touchdowns in short-yardage situations, moving the ball across the goal-line from inside the five each time.
