Ben Steele was promoted to tight ends coach in 2020 after joining the Falcons as an offensive assistant in 2019. The seven-year NFL vet helped coach Austin Hooper, who set career highs in receptions (75), receiving yards (787) and receiving touchdowns (six) en route to his second Pro Bowl selection in 2019. Steele was selected as a head coach for the East-West Shrine Bowl following the 2019 season.
Steele spent 2013-18 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers under then Head Coach Dirk Koetter. He coached the Buccaneers tight ends, including Cameron Brate and O.J. Howard, in 2017-18 after assisting the offense the previous three years. In 2018, Howard and Brate totaled 865 receiving yards and 11 of the team's 36 receiving touchdowns.
