The Atlanta Falcons and receiver Julio Jones are reportedly close to finalizing a new contract, according to a report by NFL Network's Tom Pelissero on Saturday morning.
According to Pelissero's tweet, the multi-year extension would make Jones the NFL's highest-paid receiver and the deal is expected to be announced sometime on Saturday.
Pelissero also reported that it is expected to be a three-year deal worth $66 million, which would make him the highest paid receiver. Jones still has two years left on his current deal.
ESPN's Adam Schefter also tweeted about a multi-year extension between the two sides Saturday, noting that $64 million of the deal (97 percent) would be due at signing.
In his eight seasons with the Falcons, Jones has caught 698 passes for 10,731 yards and 51 touchdowns. Jones was the NFL's leading receiver in 2018, gaining 1,677 yards and scoring eight touchdowns on 113 catches. He is the only receiver in NFL history with multiple 250-yard games, and he's topped that mark three times during his career.
