FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- The Atlanta Falcons announced Friday that they have sent a conditional pick in the 2020 NFL Draft for New England Patriots strong safety Jordan Richards.

Richards, 25, was selected by the Patriots in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft. He has started seven games in his three NFL seasons, recording 36 tackles, three pass defenses, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. In addition to playing strong safety Richards also played some linebacker at times for the Patriots, similar to the hybrid role that Kemal Ishmael has occupied for Atlanta in recent seasons.

Richards played college football at Stanford, where he played in 54 games for the Cardinal. In his four seasons at Stanford, Richards registered 245 tackles, 12 tackles for a loss, nine pass defenses, nine interceptions, two forced fumbles and a sack.
