Falcons reach an injury settlement with Corey Nelson, promote Dewey Jarvis to the active roster

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- The Atlanta Falcons have announced they've reached an injury settlement with linebacker Corey Nelson and are promoting linebacker Dewey Jarvis from the practice squad to the active roster in a corresponding move.

Jarvis, and undrafted free agent out of Brown University, earned a spot on the Falcons' active roster following the preseason. Jarvis had seven tackles and two sacks during the preseason.

Nelson spent the last four seasons with the Denver Broncos and was with the Philadelphia Eagles during the 2018 preseason. A seventh-round draft pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, Nelson has appeared in 53 games with six starts during his career, recording 95 tackles, six pass defenses, one sack and one fumble recovery.
