Falcons Part Ways with Veteran RB Jackson

The Atlanta Falcons today announced that they have released running back Steven Jackson.

Jackson, 6-2, 240 pounds, was originally selected by the St. Louis Rams in the first round (24th overall) of the 2004 NFL Draft out of Oregon State. He was signed by the Falcons as a free agent on March 15, 2013. In two seasons with the Falcons, Jackson rushed for 1,250 yards on 347 carries with 12 touchdowns. He also added 53 catches for 339 yards and one receiving touchdown.
