Linebacker Deion Jones and kicker Matt Bryant will not play and it's simply a coach's decision, the team announced.
Jones only played three plays against the Jets last week and registered three tackles. In 2017, the third-year linebacker tallied 138 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, 10 pass defenses and three interceptions. Bryant, the Falcons' all-time leading scorer with 1,029 points, did not play in Atlanta's first preseason game.
Both Atlanta and Kansas City enter the game with 0-1 preseason records. The Falcons fell 17-0 to the Jets and the Chiefs lost 17-10 to the Texans. A 7 p.m. ET kickoff is scheduled at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
