Middleton, who is 6-foot-2 and 235 pounds, played collegiately at Georgia State from 2015-18. Middleton was a two-year starter at inside linebacker and ranks sixth in Panthers history with 191 career tackles, including with 8.5 tackles for loss, one interception and six pass break-ups in 48 games. Middleton was signed by the Houston Texans as an undrafted free agent and was later waived back in May.

Cheevers, who was signed by the Falcons on Aug. 2, was previously signed this offseason by the Titans as an undrafted free agent out of Boston College. He was waived/injured by the team following rookie minicamp this spring. During his final season in college Cheevers became a very important part of Boston College's defense. A first-team All-ACC selection in 2018, Cheevers' seven interceptions were tied for tops in the FBS.
