FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. – The Atlanta Falcons' training facility will now be called IBM Performance Field following a new naming rights partnership with IBM, the team announced on Wednesday morning.
This development extends a longstanding partnership between IBM and AMB Sports & Entertainment as IBM is a partner with the Falcons and a founding partner for the Falcons home, Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
New signage will be going up in various areas around the facility in the coming weeks including exterior entrances, indoor practice field and goal pads on the outdoor practice field.
IBM helped to build Mercedes-Benz Stadium, which is considered one of the most technologically advanced stadiums in the world. Using Design Thinking, IBM developed the ultimate fan experience with a fully integrated IT system, Internet of Things (IoT) technology and an immersive, high-tech suite of interactive applications built from the ground up by IBM Services, delivered and hosted on the IBM Cloud.
IBM also brought its expertise in sports venue infrastructure design and implementation to the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Training Ground, home and training facility of Major League Soccer Club, Atlanta United FC, providing a year-round, state-of-the art technological experience for the players and staff. IBM is considered to be one of the foremost innovators in management services and personalized fan experiences for sports and entertainment venues around the world like Wimbledon, US Open and The Masters.
IBM continues to play a role in how fans consume sports via strategic technologies including cloud, AI and emerging tech like 5G.
