Biography
Career
- Has played in 32 games, recording 25 tackles (16 solo), four tackles for loss, two quarterback hits and one sack for the Falcons.
- Saw action in all 17 games in 2023, contributing on defense and special teams. Recorded five tackles (four solo) on special teams and one tackle on defense.
- Played in 15 games on defense and special teams, recording 24 total tackles (16 solo), four tackles for loss, two quarterback hits and 1.0 sack. He also added five special teams tackles (two solo) in 2022.
- Registered his first-career sack in Week 7 vs. Cincinnati of the 2022 season.
COLLEGE
- Played five seasons (2017-21) at Western Kentucky University.
- Tallied 349 total tackles (179 solo), 34.0 sacks, 60 tackles for loss, nine forced fumbles, eight passes defensed, one interception and one fumble recovery in 62 games.
- Earned first-team All-Conference USA in each of his final three seasons, earning two Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year awards in that span (2019, 2021), becoming the fourth player to win the award multiple times in conference history.
- Led the Hilltoppers in sacks (9.0), tackles for loss (17.5) and forced fumbles (four) in 14 games (14 starts) in 2021.
- Also recorded more total tackles (94) than any FBS defensive lineman last season, marking the second time he accomplished that feat in the past three years (99 total tackles in 2019).
- Finished his college career as the all-time sack leader in program history with 34, while his 60 tackles for loss were the second most in school history.
- Named MVP of the American team at the 2022 Senior Bowl.
PERSONAL
- Attended Cedar Grove High School in Ellenwood, Ga. as a senior after playing three seasons at Martin Luther King High.
- Led Cedar Grove to a 13-2 record and a GHSA Divison 3A state championship as a senior after recording 49 tackles and eight tackles for loss.
- Earned first-team all-state honors as a defensive lineman as a senior.
- First cousin of Falcons' 2022 sixth-round selection Justin Shaffer.
- Was high school teammates with Shaffer and Indianapolis Colts' tight end Jelani Woods at Cedar Grove High School, and was teammates with Arden Key and Terez Hall at Martin Luther King.
- Started his high school career as a wide receiver and running back before moving to defensive end as a junior.
